TORONTO – Following a successful season in which Toronto Irish Football Club became the only undefeated League Champions in the Toronto Services Soccer League in 2010, TIFC held its inaugural All Irish Charity 6-a-side event as its season's finale.

The tournament, organised in association with Ceili Cottage and Power Soccer School, was opened with the beautiful rendition of both the Irish and Canadian national anthems by local singer Aideen O'Brien and featured a delightful performance from the Gilchrist Canavan Irish School of Dance prior to the tournament's final.

Competing for the prestigious Hosford Hurley Stick were four teams from Toronto Irish FC themselves – TIFC Ulster, TIFC Munster, TIFC Connacht and TIFC Leinster – as well as teams from Toronto's ever-expanding Irish community – Toronto Celtic FC, Downtown Toronto Celtic Supporters Club, St. Mike's GAA and St. Vincent's GAA.

The final was a fiercely contested affair between TIFC Munster and Downtown Toronto Celtic Supporters Club with TIFC Munster being crowned the eventual and worthy tournament champions after an exciting penalty shootout.

Post-match celebrations were held at the famous Irish local Ceili Cottage where the players were treated to a mouth-watering spread of oysters and other fine fare as well as a fair few pints of the black stuff courtesy of Patrick MacMurray.

Money raised by the tournament helped to fund an Ireland Fund of Canada project that provided a Christmas party for a group of underprivileged children in Ireland.
