VANCOUVER - The ISSC Harps won the Amalgamation Cup on August 16, beating the Vancouver Metro's Bombastic by two goals to nil at the Prince of Wales field.
The Harps dominated the game from start to finish and should really have won by four or five.
The game started as an even contest until the excellent Davey O'Sullivan scored after 20 minutes into the top corner from 15 yards which gave the goalkeeper no chance.
From that point on there was only going to be one winner and the score became two for the Harps after the returning Stevie Mantle beat the keeper to a loose ball and beat the covering defender on the line.
The rest of the game saw the Harps squander chances with Bombastic failing to create one chance of note meaning that Noah Pawlowski in goal had little to do.
The Harps are currently training for the winter season where a challenge for the Richmond Premier league is expected after welcoming several new quality additions to the existing squad.
