VANCOUVER - The weekend of June 27 and 28 saw the Vancouver Irish Sporting and Social Club host the annual Vancouver Gaelic tournament at the Capilano Rugby Grounds in the North Shore.

Ladies and Men's Gaelic footballers travelled from Seattle, Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary to compete in the weekend games.

On top of this, four teams from Vancouver took part in the games (Vancouver Celts, Vancouver Harps, The Irish and The Aussies).

A great number of supporters turned up to witness the excellent display of football which was certainly helped by the fabulous weather throughout the weekend.

The football played throughout the weekend was second to none, Vancouver Celts were victorious in both the women's and the men's tournament finals in the end, but not without the men's final going to extra time.

The Vancouver hurlers were also victorious in their exhibition game versus Seattle Gaels.

A huge thank you to all those who helped make the weekend such a success including referees. The ISSC also extends a big thank you to the Capilano rugby grounds for allowing the use of their excellent facilities throughout the weekend.
