VANCOUVER - The 34th annual general meeting of the Vancouver Irish Sporting and Social Club was held on December 18 at Scribes RFC Clubhouse.
In the absence of President Graham Hancock, a lengthy run down on all of the year's events was given by Secretary Roicin O'Connolly with specific highlights of the Ladies' Gaelic football team winning the Western Canadian Championship for the first time, the men's team strong showing in Alberta and the continued success of the club's website www.isscvancouver.com with the larger Irish community.
The financial report was ably presented to members by Katrina McAndrew along with reports from the Vancouver Harps' Paul Stack and GAA coordinators Keith and Kate Clark. A vote of thanks was given to those who served on the 2007 executive and in particular to Olivia O'Hara.
The nominations for the 2008 ISSC executive were highlighted by the willingness of many to let their name stand for a position.
