NANAIMO – The rules committee of the world governing body of competitive Irish Dance, An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha, in Ireland has declared CeltFest Vancouver Island's Irish dance camp an open workshop.
CeltFest's organizers are honoured and delighted in this unexpected news, as it enables students who compete from all schools worldwide to attend, regardless of their school and their school's affiliations.
Also, this allows CeltFest to continue in the spirit of sharing the culture and excellence in Irish dance the festival has built over the past 10 years.
CeltFest Vancouver Island is the only sanctioned open workshop in North America this year to date.
This news could not have come at a better time – their 10th anniversary. Already the camp has accepted enrolments from as far away as Massachusetts and Tunisia.
