VANCOUVER – Globe 2010 is one of the world’s largest and longest-running conferences dedicated to the business of the environment.

Every two years, over 10,000 professionals from over 70 countries come together at GLOBE for three days of thought-leading sessions presented by world-renowned sustainability experts. The purpose is to survey leading-edge environmental innovations and to participate in unparalleled global networking opportunities.

This year, the GLOBE 2010 event was held in Vancouver from March 24-26.

Nine of Ireland’s leading environment companies participated in the event and this was the largest delegation representing Irish companies ever to visit western Canada.

On March 25, Enterprise Ireland and VIBE (Vancouver Irish Business Enterprise) held a joint networking reception at Malone’s Sports Bar & Grill on West Pender Street.

There was a great buzz of energy and excitement in the room. It was the kind of gathering where you would have no choice but to network, since every square inch of the floor was occupied.

That makes for a very successful networking event and just the kind that most Irish love... lots of people to meet and talk with, and you need to fight your way to the bar.
