The 2010 BC Highland Games:
Immerse yourself in Scottish charm
VANCOUVER – The 2010 BC Highland Games will honour all the first class entertainment we have right here in our local community. We have proven to the world that British Columbia can put on a show to “wow” everyone. This year’s Games will confirm it!
On June 26 the clans, pipers, dancers and caber tossers will all convene at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam to host a day of fun and great times. Everyone is invited to come and join in the excitement.
There are plenty of activities for the children along with the extremely popular Haggis Hunt from last year. Yes, the elusive Haggis are migrating back to Coquitlam and they will be lurking around the clan tents, dancing platforms, piping areas and even amongst the heavy events. Spot a Haggis and you can become an Official Haggis Hunter!
Vancouver is home to the six time World Champion SFU Pipe Band. There is no need to travel afar to see the best, because we have them right here and they will be thrilling audiences with their impressive music and showmanship!
There are cultural events, whisky tasting, a British Car show and the ever-famous beer tent! The Highland Games are all about competition and organizers guarantee you will get to experience some of the best throughout the day.
The BC Highland Games are BC’s largest Highland games attracting over 10,000 people. It’s a day to listen to the best piping and drumming, marvel at the dancing, stroll through the exhibits, have a bit to eat and immerse yourself in Scottish charm and goodwill.
