VANCOUVER – Ceili’s Irish Pub and Restaurant is located in downtown Vancouver on Smithe Street. Inside there are three floors filled with great entertainment and delicious dining.

The top floor features a retractable rooftop that is rolled back to bring in the outdoors when the weather is nice. There is also a great view of the city from the third floor.

I recently dropped into Ceili’s to speak to General Manager Mark Reid and get caught-up on some of the happenings at their busy establishment.

Being in the downtown entertainment district, Ceili’s was extremely busy during the Olympics with block long lineups to get in.

Ceili’s is bringing in all soccer and Six Nations Rugby Games which go right through until the end of March.

Being an Irish pub they don’t just do all the Canadian sports but show the overseas sports as well.

“That’s been a very good draw for us even though there have been some really early morning start times. We charge $20 to get in and that includes breakfast,” said Mark.

The big game coming up is on March 20 with the Six Nations Rugby Final and Ceili’s will show the games on the upstairs and downstairs floors.

On St. Patrick’s Day, Ceili’s will open their doors at 11 AM with entertainment starting at 3 PM featuring pipers, Irish dancers and Celtic entertainers.

Mark continued, “It will be a real regional festival here at Ceili’s. We will just keep rolling from the Olympics right into St. Patrick’s – it’s just going to be one long celebration. We built the place to be busy, and that’s what it is.”

Ceili’s also has lots of room for private parties and corporate functions. It is located at 670 Smithe Street in Vancouver. For more information, call (604) 697-9199 or see: www.ceilis.com.
