BELFAST - On a sunny Saturday in Belfast, a huge crowd gathered to watch as the one-and-only May McFettridge donned a safety harness and zip-trekked across the River Lagan to raise funds for the charity, Children in Crossfire.

May, (a.k.a. comedian/pantomime star, John Linehan), oozed style as she took to the sky in a 150-foot crane high above the River Lagan.

The challenge involved May zipping from one side of the river to the other - at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.

Also up for the adventure were Children in Crossfire's executive director, Richard Moore and Father Willie Maningi, a visitor from one of the Children in Crossfire supported projects in Tanzania.

Over 78 members of the public were also up for the thrill ride which by all accounts was the perfect way to spend a glorious sunny day in Belfast.

The event, which raised a total of £15,000 proved to be hugely successful.

Richard Moore said, "The money raised will help Children in Crossfire continue our work in Tanzania and Ethiopia where we're working to provide children basic necessities that we take for granted here like food, shelter, medication and education."

Asked what May thought of the whole zip-trekking adventure, she replied she was happy she didn't lose her bloomers and she now "knows the colour of adrenalin!" Way to go May!
