Black Pudding Imports in Langley has been in business for the past eight years. As the name would indicate, they carry a lot of the old country favourites such as black and white puddings, specialty bacon, meat pies, haggis, jams, jellies, marmalades, specialty teas, biscuits and British groceries and souvenirs.

Unique to Black Pudding Imports and hugely popular is their haggis tasting and bagpipe music to celebrate Robbie Burns Day.

Equally as popular is the St. Patrick's Day tasting, which will take place this year on March 15 from Noon to 3 PM. Some delicious Irish potato soup and Irish soda bread will be served.

Speaking about their new products and the wholesale division of the business, Linda Hazelton said, "we wholesale all our bacon, sausages, black and white puddings, meat pies and specialty cheeses. Everything is made on the premises, except the specialty cheeses.

"We've also started to bring in a lot of souvenirs such as baseball caps, team scarves and stadium signs.

"One other item which is really popular with the younger crowd is our second-hand British music vinyl records. We also sold tons of them to people in their forties and fifties over Christmas. Sales have really taken off on these oldies!"

Black Pudding Imports is located at 20243 - 62 Avenue (between 203 and 202 Streets) in Langley. For more information, call (604) 532-1223, e-mail: blackpud@telus.net, or visit their website at: www.blackpudding.ca.
