Trade Mission Markets Scot Technology in Canada

VANCOUVER - Scottish Development International is Scotland's main economic development agency funded by the Scottish government with a mission of helping the people and businesses of Scotland success overseas.

In November Scottish Development International hosted a Scottish business delegation who were welcomed at networking receptions in Toronto and Vancouver.

The group included Callum Campbell of Teknek, a company which designs and manufactures contact cleaning systems for flat substrates utilizing specialized elastomer rubber rollers, adhesive rolls and static elimination. It supplies yield improvement solutions to numerous industries such as electronics, converting, label printing, screen printing, decorative laminate. Capable of removing dry, unattached contaminants down to sub-micron size. This can offer exceptional yield improvements through improved quality and reduced rejects.

Douglas McLoughlan of Inisoft which provides CRM solutions that support economic development activities. It provides standard capabilities for the measurement and tracking of gross value add (GVA). Current clients include National Assembly of Wales, East of England Development Agency, Advantage West Midland, the Learning and Skills Council, and a number of regional and sub-regional business links, chambers of commerce and local authorities along with colleges and private sector skills development organizations.

Graeme Campbell of Anite Secure Information Solutions Ltd. which provides software applications and services to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. Anite currently serves all 53 police forces in the UK, a selection of security and intelligence organizations, and a wide cross-section of UK central government departments and agencies, significant elements of the justice community in Scotland and more than 170 of the UK's local authorities.

Robin Prior of Advanced Data Services Ltd., one of the UK's largest document scanning, data capture, and form processing companies. Current public and private sector clients include the UK Ministry of Defence, Departments of Agriculture and Education, Westminster City Council, chartered accounting firms, fundraising agencies, and events such as Glastonbury Music Festival. ADS has been able to improve the processing of inbound application forms, increasing the level and accuracy of data collection and converting current paper based processes to electronic.
