Feed the Hungry Benefit: A great night of fun and music
By MICHAEL VIENS
VANCOUVER – Mark your calendars now for the Celtic FUNdraiser event of the season.
This will be a night of merriment and cheer to share with family and friends in support of the Union Gospel Mission, an organization that brings hope and help to many of our city's less fortunate.
The eighth annual Danny Burns Memorial “Feed the Hungry Benefit” is happening on December 6 at the Wolf & Hound in Vancouver and, in Danny’s honour, a great night of entertainment is in the works.
Born in Belfast, Danny was a life-long musician who was born into a musical family. He had a larger-than-life personality and was active in charitable activities and Irish cultural life in both North America and Ireland.
This is the Celtic party of the season with a lineup of fine local Celtic entertainment all in one venue and everyone’s invited!
Acts appearing this year will include: The Rogues & Tinkers, Blackthorn, B.C. Regiment Irish Pipes and Drums, The Streels, Copper Sky, Three Row Barley, Pat Chessell, Ballyhooley, The Irish Wakers and so much more! There are always surprises and lots of door prizes.
Get there early to get a good seat and help make this another successful fundraising event in memory of a good friend!
Admission is $10 with all proceeds going to the Union Gospel Mission. Tax receipts can be issued upon request for any donations over $15. Donations of non-perishable food items for the Vancouver Food Bank are also greatly welcome.
