VANCOUVER - Are you a musician looking for an exciting and unusual vacation for yourself, your children or for your whole family?

Perhaps you're an Irish dancer wanting to develop that competitive edge? Or maybe you just love all things Irish and want to immerse yourself in Irish culture that also includes hurling sticks! For kids and adults, Ceili Irish Music and Dance Camp has something for everyone.

The De Danaan School of Irish Dance is proud to host the seventh annual Ceili Irish Music and Dance Camp 2008 on August 17-23. Held in the beautiful resort area of Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia, Ceili 2008 will bring world champions, star dancers and dynamic musicians to the Vancouver and Fraser Valley region.

There will be an Instructor Concert on August 17 at 7 PM ($20 admission) and a Student Concert on August 23 at 2:30 PM ($10 admission). Both concerts are open to the general public, so be sure to buy your tickets early.

Director, Leslie Wilson created Ceili Music and Dance Camp to provide an opportunity for participants to become immersed in Irish culture and to enhance their cross disciplinary cultural skills.

Ceili Camp helps build and sustain a rich, cultural community in a fun, multi-generational environment using the highest world caliber instructors to inspire and guide students to achieve their personal best.

Responding to the need for education in the area of Irish culture within the larger Celtic cultural community in Vancouver's Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, Leslie brings outstanding talent from the larger Irish community to enrich participants to an understanding of true Irish culture.

Ceili Music and Dance Camp acknowledges the Irish Heritage Society of Canada for their ongoing support of the establishment of a cultural identity for the Irish within the ethnic mosaic of Canadian culture. In particular, the Camp appreciates their tremendous efforts to support diversity among the various Celtic cultures through their sponsorship of Ceili Camp.

Whether it's Gaelic games, dance, fiddle, guitar, piano accompaniment, penny whistle or bodhrán that piques your interest, Ceili Camp is a fun-filled week where you're coached by some of the top names in Irish dance, music, and sports.

For beginner students, this is a chance to be inspired by world-renowned artists; for advanced students, an opportunity to hone your skills.
