NORTH VANCOUVER - The annual pre-Christmas concert of the North Shore Celtic Ensemble (NSCE) took place to a packed audience at the Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver on December 1.
These youthful maestros of the fiddle, flute, and bodhran who craft their Celtic sounds under the direction of Claude Gigere and Jay Knutson, received well deserved applause after every tune at their "A New Set of Strings" concert at the Centennial.
Included in the evening's entertainment were individual performances by special guests Kyle Taylor and Caitlan Read, each graduates of NSCE, who demonstrated their own virtuosity abilities on the fiddle during the evening's enthralling performance.
The "Ensemble," with their musicians from North Vancouver, was joined by the Coquitlam Ensemble for the evening's outstanding show.
In a nutshell, the North Shore Celtic Ensemble continues to demonstrate the epitome of musical excellence, creativity and community. These youthful musicians are to be applauded for their dedication in providing one of the Lower Mainland's best Celtic sounds in recent years.
For those who still haven't heard the NSCE, book a ticket for their next performance, or order a copy of their latest CD, A New Set of Strings. You won't be disappointed.
