Sixth Annual Danny Burns Memorial 'Feed the Hungry Benefit'

VANCOUVER - Mark your calendars now for the Celtic FUNdraiser event of the season. A night of merriment and cheer to share with family and friends in support of the Union Gospel Mission, an organization that brings hope and help to many of our city's less fortunate.

The sixth annual Danny Burns Memorial "Feed the Hungry Benefit" is happening on December 9 at the Wolf & Hound in Vancouver and, in Danny's honour, a great night of entertainment is in the works.

Born in Belfast, Danny was a life-long musician who was born into a musical family. He had a larger-than-life personality and was active in charitable activities and Irish cultural life in both North America and Ireland.

For more about Danny, visit: www.theballadeers.com/WH_01.htm or www.mayneisland.com/inmemorium/dannyburns.htm.

Route 66 - featuring Danny's sister, Anne on vocals - will get things swinging on December 9.

Following that will be the Celtic musician's office party - a lineup of fine local Celtic entertainment all in one venue and everyone's invited!

Acts appearing this year will include: The Rogues n' Tinkers, Blackthorn, Copper Sky, The Streels, Pat Chessell Band and so much more! There are always surprises and lots of door prizes.

Get there early to get a good seat and help make this another successful year in memory of a good friend! The goal is to meet or beat what was achieved last year: over $3,400 and a trunk load of food donations for the Union Gospel Mission.

Admission is $10 with all proceeds going to the Union Gospel Mission. Tax receipts can be issued upon request for any donations over $15. They will also be accepting donations of non-perishable food items.

Th Wolf and Hound is located at 3617 West Broadway in Vancouver. Visit: www.thewolfandhound.com.
