Celebrates 20th Anniversary
MISSION, BC - The 20th annual Mission Folk Music Festival kicks-off on July 27 and runs through July 29 at the beautiful Fraser River Heritage Park - located just east of the City of Mission, overlooking the Fraser River.

SCOTLAND'S BATTLEFIELD BAND - Alan Reid, Alasdair White, Mike Katz and Sean O'Donnell - have been headlining festivals around the world with their innovative take on Scottish music traditions for going on 30 years. |
Three evenings of showcase main stage concerts run Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Three daytime stages run concurrently Saturday and Sunday.
Over 20 groups and more than 100 artists will perform from widely diverse cultural origins. From Tucson to Tibet, South Africa to Scotland, Montreal to Madeira Park, they will all gather to help the Mission Folk Music Festival celebrate 20 years of bringing a world of wonderful music to the Fraser Valley.
In the Celtic music department, some of the highlights include: The Battlefield Band - 30 years on and still at the vanguard of the Scottish traditional music revival; The McDades - 2007 Juno Award-winning sibling-led Celtic/world/jazz ensemble; Angus Lyon & Ruaridh Campbell - taking Scottish tradition in innovative directions; The Ecclestons - delicious, fun-filled Celtic Soul from British Columbia.
This year the festival offers a special invitation to come and share in one of the most accessible and friendly music events of the festival season, and hear some of the best music this old world has to offer.
Other on-site features include the Folk Art & Import Market, the festival CD tent, a festival store (for festival souvenirs), a variety of food vendors and a shaded licensed area with a main stage view. On-site camping is also available at a nominal charge.

Early bird (to June 30) weekend pass prices: $45 (youth), $50 (senior), $70 (adult) now on sale. Advance (July1-26) evening, day and weekend passes - $30-$80.
