New Solo Album for Dolores O'Riordan

Dolores O'Riordan - the voice of The Cranberries - is back after a five year hiatus with her first solo CD, Are You Listening?, released on May 15.

Taking her time after the demise of The Cranberries (who sold 40 million records worldwide), O'Riordan retreated to real life with her husband. She had three children and wrote over 30 songs.

She never rushed. And when she was ready, she whittled those 30 songs down to the terrific 12 tracks that make up Are You Listening?, co-produced by Youth, Dan Broadbeck and Rich Chycki.

Amazon calls Are You Listening?... "a throwback to 1980s-era Siouxsie and the Banshees and Sinead O'Connor, with sweeping keyboards, forceful drumming, and muscular guitar work.

"It may seem like a melodramatic move, but the music never overwhelms the slight yet steely figure at the center of the maelstrom, particularly on the lilting Ordinary Day and haunting Black Widow."

In support of her solo debut, O'Riordan will be embarking on her first tour in more than five years. Her Canadian tour dates include: Montreal - July 6 at the PDA Theatre; Toronto - July 7 at the Phoenix; and Vancouver - July 23 at the Commodore Ballroom. Tickets on sale at Ticketmaster outlets now.
