Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir Along With Special Guests
Returning to Chan Centre at UBC
VANCOUVER - The internationally-renowned Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir returns to the Chan Centre on May 26 for a gala concert featuring traditional Welsh hymns, spirituals, opera choruses, Broadway show tunes and much more.
Joining them at the Chan are 100 women from the multi-award-winning Lions Gate Chorus under the direction of Sandy Robinson Marron. One of the top-ranked choruses in North American Sweet Adelines competitions, the Chorus presents exciting, well-choreographed renditions of popular ballads and folk tunes.
Members of Nancy Hermiston's talented UBC Opera Ensemble round out the program. Over 200 performers will share the stage in this choral extravaganza.
Since their last appearance at the Chan, the VWMC has wowed them in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Boston, the Maritimes, and at dozens of concerts in the Lower Mainland and throughout British Columbia.
Under its dynamic Music Director, Jonathan Quick, the choir offers a program that is varied, challenging and above all, entertaining.
Reserved seating tickets are $25 regular admission and $21 for students/seniors. They are available from the Chan Centre ticket office in person, from the Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir at (604) 878-1190, or by e-mail at: vwmc@ shaw.ca; or from TicketMaster at (604) 280-3311, or www.ticketmaster.ca.
