Alistair Pattison: New Pipe Major with
the BC Regiment, Irish Pipes and Drums
VANCOUVER – The B.C. Regiment had a change of command ceremony on April 7 where Alistair Pattison assumed the position of Pipe Major with the B.C. Regiment, Irish Pipes & Drums from Jordan Seguin.
Alistair comes from Grimsby, UK. having immigrated to Canada in November 2008. He has been piping since he was a boy and is an accomplished competition piper.
He assumes command of the band that has grown from 18 to 30 under Jordan's leadership as pipe major from 2007 to 2010.
Jordan who joined the band at the age of 15 has just completed leading the band on the most successful trip to Northern Ireland in March.
He was recently honoured by Lt. Colonel Bruce Kadonoff, Commanding Officer of the B.C. Regiment, at the annual St. Julian dinner for his nine years of service to the B.C. Regiment, Irish Pipes & Drums.
His future plans include travelling to Europe and Australia, however he plans to maintain his relationship with the band and has been promoted to Honorary Master Warrant Officer whereby he can continue to assist and advise the band as required.
