VANCOUVER - It was a brave bunch of women from the Irish Women's Network who turned out to join in the sixth annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Vancouver recently.

Protected from blowing snow and rain by crazy hats and zany glasses, they flashed tri-colour feather boas and smiles as they entertained the crowds with jigs, reels and lots of laughter.

IWN president Deirdre O'Ruairc said, "The boas arrived specially from Dublin. The brother of one of our members, Patricia Jarvis, sent a box of them over. I think we've raised the fashion stakes for next year!"
