VANCOUVER - It was another full house for the Alexander Brothers concert on October 20 at the Scottish Cultural Centre.
Tom and Jack - two of Scotland's finest entertainers - continue to delight audiences with traditional Scottish music and ballads after almost 50 years.
In the Sixties, the "boys" had their own television show and have appeared in all the top venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the famous Sydney Opera House.
The duo are now firmly established as one of Scotland's leading international entertainers. They are as well known in Canada and the United States as they are in the UK. They have always been in demand for theatre productions and television programs and still regularly tour around the world.
One of the highlights of their career took place in 2005 when they were invited to Holyrood Palace to be awarded the MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for services to entertainment.

In Vancouver, they were warmly welcomed by Ken Rogerson, president of the United Scottish Cultural Societies. The event, which was a fundraiser for the Scottish Cultural Centre brought together an audience of member groups and organizations.
Special mention was made about the sad loss earlier this year of a dear friend to the Alexander Brothers - Mike Paul. I spoke to Tom and Jack briefly backstage as they prepared for their show and they remarked how deeply the passing of Mike Paul has touched them.
In the entrance foyer of the centre, a special collage of articles and photographs was organized by Ruth Millar and set up as a backdrop for the autograph table for Tom and Jack.
Ruth has been a devoted fan of the Alexander Brothers for many years. She also organized the t-shirts presented to each of the boys which read, "50 The Legend Continues," to honour their upcoming 50th year in the entertainment world.
