FORMER GAA PRESIDENT Peter Quinn is part of a consortium of a group of investors who have invested in the Irish Echo newspaper based in New York.

It is the only Irish American publication to have its circulation audited by ABC and the oldest English-language newspaper in New York. It has a pool of highly-talented, award-winning writers in Ireland and throughout the United States who are recognized authorities on Irish and Irish American affairs and is highly influential in reflecting Irish American interests in U.S. politics.
The Irish Echo recently secured significant new investment from a group of investors. A consortium, led by well-known businessman and former GAA President Peter Quinn, consists of Irish American and Irish business people. Quinn is also chairman of Ireland's Irish-language television station TG4.
Seán Finlay, who purchased the paper in 2002, retains a significant stake in the newspaper and will remain on the Irish Echo's board.
Newspaper and internet publisher Belfast Media Group is taking a minority stake in the consortium and will bring commercial and editorial synergies to the Irish Echo Group.
Commenting on the consortium's investment, Peter Quinn said that the new investors would bring a wealth of experience and talent from both sides of the Atlantic to the newspaper.
