Foggy Dew Richmond: Living Up to a Reputation of Excellence

GENERAL MANGER Neil Taylor and manager Kelsie Williams, of the popular Foggy Dew Irish Pub in Richmond

By CATHOLINE BUTLER
RICHMOND - After the distribution of the June issue of The Celtic Connection, Colleen and I dropped in for lunch at the popular Foggy Dew Irish Pub in Richmond.

Situated on the corner of Alderbridge Way and Westminster Highway, the Foggy Dew features a wrap-around patio with colourful hanging flower baskets and wrought iron railings. Inside hardwood floors are offset by stained glass partitions, a circular bar, and a few cosy snug areas. There is also a raised area in one corner for live entertainment every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Launched in 1998, the Foggy Dew in Richmond was the first Irish pub opened by owners of the popular Shark Club sports bar. This was followed shortly afterwards by the Coquitlam location.

The Foggy Dew Pubs pride themselves on their warm hospitality. They live up to that expectation with delicious food, excellent service, friendly faces and great live entertainment.

For lunch, I ordered the special of the day - Thai prawns and noodles - which was excellent. Our server recommended the New York cheesecake with strawberries for dessert. I was a bit apprehensive because some cheesecakes can be quite heavy, but the Foggy Dew cheesecake was nice and light and the strawberries were just the right touch. They also serve a great cosmopolitan!

General Manager, Neil Taylor, said they are working on a new summer menu, including a new wine and dessert list.

The Foggy Dew is located at 7311 Westminster Highway in Richmond. Call (604) 270-2266. Visit their website at: www.foggydewirishpub.com.
