Clan Henderson Chief
Makes Official Visit to Canada
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia - Alistair Henderson of Fordell, Chief of the Name and Arms of Henderson along with his partner, Audrey Pluis, made their first official visit to Canada in October.
Alistair assumed the position and responsibilities of Chief upon the death of his father Dr. John William Phelp Henderson of Fordell. The Henderson Chief and his partner were hosted, while in Canada, by the Clan Henderson Society of Canada.
The Chief and his partner were treated to a spirited ceilidh in the old Shire town of Pictou, Nova Scotia and they were the special guests at a reception held in their honour in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Representatives of the Clan Henderson Society will be present on May 20 at this year's Victoria Highland Games in Victoria, B.C. They will bring information to the Victoria Games about the Clan's history, its symbols, its role in keeping Scottish traditions alive in Canada, and on the Clan Henderson Society.
They also welcome anyone with a connection to the surname MacEanruig (son of Henry), such as Mackendrick, Kendrick, Henderson and others, to come and meet with them while they are in Victoria.
Information on the Clan Henderson Society is also available at www.chebucto.ns.ca/Heritage/Henderson.
