This is a place where you can sit long and talk much. It's very unpretentious and welcoming, the kind of place where you can drop in after shopping or after work and there's no need to dress to the nines. It's very laid back, like a lot of traditional pubs.
Also, like a lot of the fine traditional pubs, they pull a good pint and serve hearty food.
When I stopped in along with Colleen, we started off with a cosmopolitan and we had Fox's signature beef dip which is served with carmelized onions for $6.95. It's an excellent choice. Every Sunday from 6 PM onwards, they serve a roast beef dinner for $5.95, which is another great deal.
The servers are friendly and informative, with lively Irish music playing in the background. Visitors will also notice a clock on the wall counting down the days until St. Patrick's Day.
You will find people from all walks of life at Johnnie Fox's. Workers from nearby building sites, bankers, stock brokers, office workers, and tourists which makes for an interesting and diverse clientele.
