VANCOUVER - A huge round of applause to the women of the Irish Women's Network (IWN) who organized their annual auction in aid of the Celtic Society of Canada on February 16.

Both men and women are invited to attend this important event which supports a benevolent fund administered by the non-profit Society. This fund assists Irish families and individuals in our community who are need of emergency assistance. Over the years, the Society has been there to quietly help numerous individuals who have found themselves in difficult circumstances.
Special thanks to Deirdre O'Ruairc, Eilis Courtney, Geraldine Megannety, and to all those women who worked to made the evening such a success. A Special thank you also to all those who donated items for the auction.
The auctioneer for the evening was once again Nessa Flewelling, who is absolutely outstanding in this role. She will be sorely missed when she returns home to her native Clare later this summer.
It was a great evening enjoyed by everyone with refreshments and delicious cheese and home-made brown bread and cakes on offer.
