Canadian National Games Development Officer Appointed

Paul Loughnane has been appointed as the National Games Development Officer by the Canadian County Board. In this part time position he will be implementing policies and programs and will co-ordinate the activities allocated by Divisional and Minor Boards while working closely with youth officers and school co-ordinators associated with all clubs within the Canadian County Board.

Paul Loughnane's main responsibilities include: grassroots games and program development; development of strategy for implementation, development and retention of players, coaches and funds; development of a three-year plan for introduction and development in schools; coordinate all competitions, demonstrations and blitzes at school level; liaison with school officials, teachers and coaches; research and write submissions for grant funding; assist in the development of strong links between schools and clubs.

Paul has served the Gaelic Athletic Association in his previous roles as the Toronto Divisional Board President in 2005 and the GTA -Youth Development Officer in 2006. He has a wealth of experience as a player with Toronto's St. Mikes and won a senior medal with Castlehaven, County Cork. Paul has coached minor level teams and assisted on the Canadian International Ladies Team.
