Canadian Board Elected for 2006 Season
TORONTO - The Gaelic Athletic Association's Canadian County Board's Annual General Meeting was held on February 26 in Toronto. President Brian Farmer (Curtis, Ontario) and Vice-President Jarlath Connaughton (Ottawa, Ontario) were re-elected and joining the board for the first time are Eddie Mangan (Whitby, Ontario – Treasurer) and John O'Flynn (North Vancouver, British Columbia-Secretary).
This is the first time since the founding of the Canadian County Board in 1987 by GAA President Dr. Mick Loftus of Crossmolina, County Mayo (which John O'Flynn was in attendance as a representative of the Vancouver Irish Sporting and Social Club) that an official from Western Canada will serve on the County executive.
