Presiding Officer
of Scottish Parliament
to Visit Vancouver
VANCOUVER - The Centre for Scottish Studies at Simon Fraser University has announced that George Reid, the Presiding Officer (Speaker) of the Scottish Parliament will visit Vancouver on November 30 under the joint auspices of the Centre for Scottish Studies, The Scotland Funds, Global Scots and the British Consulate in Vancouver.
Lord David Steel will visit Vancouver as a guest of the Centre for Scottish Studies in April 2007 (exact date dependent on the House of Lords sitting schedule) to deliver a lecture on "The Scottish Parliament: Its origins, what it has done and where it is going."
