LINDSAY DAVIDSON
Philharmonic Bagpipes

A very unique CD, Philharmonic Bagpipes is a solo bagpiper performing with the String Orchestra of Poland. The bagpipes used on the album are Scottish smallpipes, borderpipes and Highland bagpipes. Bagpiper Lindsay Davidson, arranged and composed many of the tracks on the album.

Lindsay Davidson was the first person in the world to complete a music degree specifically as a piper. He then undertook postgraduate study at Edinburgh University and is currently researching under the supervision of Napier University. He is piper to Clan Davidson and until moving home was Town Piper to Linlithgow.

What is so unusual about Philharmonic Bagpipes, is that mixed bagpipes are not usually integrated with an orchestra and doubly unusual as the entire production was undertaken in Poland. Conductor Jan Jazownik teaches conducting at Cracow Music Academy and his services as a conductor are in great demand across Poland and abroad.

Philharmonic Bagpipes is a skillful blending and intermingling of bagpipes, playing many of the well-known Scottish airs. This combination is a joy to listen to. The CD has just been released in Scotland, but has been available in Poland for some time, where it is selling consistently.

THE CELTIC TENORS
Remember Me

The Celtic Tenors, the acclaimed vocal trio that has taken European and UK audiences by storm with their precision harmonies and unique classical crossover repertoire, are set to conquer new territory in North America with the release of their new CD Remember Me.

The Celtic Tenors are Matthew Gilsenan; Niall Morris and James Nelson. Other special artists on their album are, Air Supply; Brian Kennedy and Samantha Mumba.

"It is so exciting for us to have so many original songs on this album, many of which were written for us by some of the leading songwriters of our time," says Niall Morris. Angel of Mercy was penned for the tenors by Ronan Hardiman, who is famous in the U.S. for composing the music for Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance.

The Celtic Tenors simple a cappella version of Danny Boy, one of Ireland's most treasured songs, is one that they have sung around the world. "I will never forget singing it for former President Bill Clinton at Dublin Castle," says Morris. "He was only a few feet away and he had tears in his eyes." He now says their version of his favorite song, Danny Boy, is the best he has ever heard.

After hearing the Celtic Tenors in concert, Phil Coulter, Ireland's legendary songwriter, wrote an unforgettable and beautiful piece entitled Remember Me, which is also the title of their album.

The Celtic Tenors, Remember Me is a CD that you will play over and over. What's nice about the liner notes is the story about each of the songs and why they were written. For more information, visit: www.celtictenors.com.
