Passionately Loyal Fans Add Power
to the Great Big Sea's Live Performances
The Hard and the Easy, Great Big Sea's eighth release hit gold status in its second week of release. This kind of success comes as no surprise to the band's fans, who are passionately loyal to the East Coast award winners and have helped Great Big Sea sell more than a million records in Canada.

Live, Great Big Sea feeds off the enthusiasm of the audience, adding more power and urgency to their gorgeous harmonies, thumping rhythms and rollicking folk tunes. All the reasons why their last show in Vancouver at the Vancouver Centre for the Performing Arts sold out the day it went on sale!
Making use of fiddle, mandolin, Irish flutes, accordions, bodhran, and tin whistle, GBS have been fusing traditional music from their Newfoundland home with modern pop for 12 years, during which they've toured tirelessly, earned a number of Juno nominations and chalked up gold or platinum sales for all their albums.
The Hard and the Easy, the follow-up to last year's Something Beautiful, spans the spectrum of the Newfoundland songbook. Melancholic, heroic and sweet, featuring songs about seafaring, logging, horses, ponds, ice, pirates, mermaids, infidelity, love, sexuality, and the dreaded cod liver oil; it's the first Great Big Sea album to consist entirely of traditional songs.
Don't miss Great Big Sea when they perform live at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park for two shows on September 1 and September 2. Tickets on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets or charge-by-phone at (604) 280-4444 at $45.50 and $34.50. Order on-line www.ticketmaster.ca or www.hob.ca.
