A Week of Study, Music and Good Times Sponsored by Coast String Fiddlers

ROBERTS CREEK, BC - The Sixth Annual Sunshine Coast Summer School of Celtic Music will be held in beautiful Roberts Creek, B.C. on July 10 to 14.

This week of study, playing and good times is sponsored by the Coast String Fiddlers Association, a non-profit society which is committed to promoting the understanding and learning of traditional music through the support of fiddle instruction and related activities.

This year there are some new offerings, including a flute class with guest instructor Nuala Kennedy. Nuala grew up in Dundalk, County Louth where she was a member of the ceili band Ceoltoiri Oga Oghrialla. She now resides in Scotland, where she plays with the group Fine Friday.

A harp workshop will be led by Sharlene Wallace of Toronto. Sharlene is a wonderful player and teacher and is in much demand for her talents. She is the principal harpist for the Kingston and Oakville Symphonies. She also appears on many world, traditional, instrumental, vocal and classical albums.

In addition, there are classes offered on fiddle, piano, accordion, cello, guitar and band with world class teachers. For more information about the Sunshine Coast Summer School of Celtic Music, call Ann Law at (604) 886_4768, or check out www.coaststringfiddlers.com.
