JAMES (JIM) ANTHONY DUNNE
May 25, 1927 - December 2, 2006
Jim Dunne slipped away peacefully in his sleep on December 2. He was 79 years old. A loving, kind and patient man, he will be sorely missed by his lovely wife Peggy (Tipperary), and his eight children, three of whom were born in Dublin and five in Canada. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren.

"Jem" as he was affectionately known, was born in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1957. Jim and Peggy were members of the Sons of Erin, and Jim played Gaelic football with the club. He later joined the Vancouver Irish Sporting and Social club and both he and Peggy were very supportive of club events and tournaments.
Jim played and coached soccer and he always managed to be coaching at a school that one of the children would be attending. He has imparted on all of his children his indomitable spirit, his sense of justice, his ready humour and thoroughly engaging love of life. He was both interesting and more importantly interested in each and every person he met. Jim loved to sing and one of his favourite party pieces was The German Clock Winder.
The Celtic Connection joins the Irish community in offering sincere condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.
