Deadline to File Claims for Abuse in Irish Institutions

DUBLIN - The Residential Institutions Redress Board was set up by the Irish Government to make fair and reasonable awards to people who, as children, were abused while resident in industrial schools, reformatories, and other institutions in the Republic of Ireland which were subject to state regulations and inspection.

Anyone who was a victim of such abuse may be entitled to monetary compensation, but the deadline for filing a claim for compensation is December 15 and the deadline will not be extended.

Further information about the Board is available on its website at: www.rirb.ie, or by e-mail at: info@rirb.ie, or from the Board’s office at Block 5, Belfield Office Park, Beech Hill Road, Clonskeagh, Dublin 4, Ireland.

The Board may also be contacted by telephone at 011-353-1-268-0600. In order to defray cost, if you are contacting the Board by telephone, indicate if you are calling from abroad and the Board’s staff will take your contact details and return your call.
