Unique Lives and Experiences Lecture Series Presents Mary Robinson
VANCOUVER - Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson will participate in the 2006 Unique Lives and Experiences North America’s Foremost Women’s Lecture Series presented by the RBC Financial Group.
The first female president of Ireland, Mary Robinson is a liberal, a feminist and most recently the UN's High Commissioner for Human Rights. TIME magazine named her a “Hero & Icon” and one of the top 100 influential leaders of 2005.
As a passionate human rights advocate, she has never been afraid to stand up against any government or world leader and speak her mind. A practice that hasn't won her many popularity contests. She has a judge's rectitude, a campaigner's zeal and the warmth of an old friend.
Tickets are sold as a package for the local series and vary in price from approximately $175 to $390. The lecture series begins on February 7 with French actress Catherine Deneuve.
