VANCOUVER - The Irish Women's Network held its annual general meeting October 23 at the Scandinavian Centre. Details of last year's events were discussed and congratulations all round for a very successful year, the highlight being the President’s lunch.

An election was held at the AGM and Clare Fox, a new member, was elected to the executive. Present member of the executive were re-elected for another term with the exception of Nessa Flewelling who has stepped down.

Following the AGM, members enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea, with delicious food, good company and great stories. There was a very large turn-out and members of the executive wish to thank all those who came out in support of the event.

The group’s annual auction has been postponed until February, see the December/January issue of The Celtic Connection for more details. This is the only annual fund raiser and proceeds are donated to the Celtic Society of Canada benevolent fund (helping Irish families in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.) This year, the auction will be open to partners and friends.
