The Alexander Brothers: Scotland's Musical Ambassadors

By CATHOLINE BUTLER

VANCOUVER - Scotland's ambassadors of Celtic Music - brothers, Tom and Jack Alexander - will return to entertain at the Scottish Cultural Centre on October 29.

These Scottish lads made their first stage appearance over 40 years ago at the Webster Theatre in Arbroath. Since then they have appeared at such well-known venues as the London Palladium, New York's Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, along with innumerable halls throughout Scotland, Canada, Ireland and the United States. At each performance, they entertain with their own particular blend of music and songs of their native Scotland.

The boys, as they are sometimes called, have no less than 35 CDs and numerous videos to their credit. Accordionist Tom, and singer Jack, are still pleasing audiences in sold-out venues throughout their tour dates.

For the past number of years, the Scottish Cultural Centre has been a destination on their annual tour schedule and they always sell-out well in advance. So, if you have a love of the traditional music and songs of Scotland, then you better get your tickets early to avoid disappointment. For tickets and information call (604) 939-3963 or (604) 929-1802.
