Irish Women's Network Updates and Eighth Annual European Festival
VANCOUVER - The IWN will sponsor Ireland’s participation in the European Festival on May 28 at the Scandinavian Community Centre, located at 6540 Thomas Street in Burnaby, (near 8 Rinks Ice Sport Centre). Now in its eighth year, this festival allows Vancouverites to “Explore Europe right at their doorstep.
Twenty-five countries will participate in this year’s festival by presenting their national customs, local traditions and regional cuisine. The festival is the only one of its type in British Columbia (www.eurofestbc.com). Admission is $5 (children under 12 free), official opening at 10:30 AM and festivities start at 11 AM with cultural displays from 11 AM to 6 PM, and a dance from 8 PM to 1 AM. Everyone is invited to the IWN annual golf tournament on June 12 at the Mylora Golf Course in Richmond. Tee-off is at 11 AM, and golfers of all levels are encouraged to participate, with networking and fun being the emphasis. Guests are welcome to attend.
