VANCOUVER - The Irish Women's Network (IWN) recently presented a donation to The Celtic Society of Canada (CSC). Maura McCay accepted the cheque on behalf of the CSC which administers a benevolent fund to assist individuals and families of Celtic heritage who are facing a financial crisis and require short-term assistance from the community.
The IWN supports this fund and every autumn it presents a Bring and Buy Auction which is an annual fund raiser for the Celtic Society of Canada. All Irish women and their friends are urged to come out and support this event. It is a great social night out with lots of fun, good food, great friends, and for a very worthwhile cause.
On April 23, the IWN will host its seventh annual anniversary dinner. This year it will be hosted by the Vancouver Ladies at the Italian Cultural Centre, located at 3075 Slocan Street.
On May 28, Ireland will once again participate in the annual European Festival at the Scandinavian Centre in Burnaby.
Finally, on June 12, the IWN will host its our annual Golf Tournament at the Mylora Golf Course in Richmond.
Please mark all these dates on your calendars. For more information, call Deirdre O'Ruairc at (604) 576_1525, e-mail: shamrockhome@shaw.ca, or visit: www.irishwomenbc.net.
