Upcoming Events 2005 for Scottish Cultural Society
VANCOUVER - On March 13 members of the Scottish community will once again be marching in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Vancouver, along with The Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band. Last year thousands turned out to see this stunning display of floats and flags as the Celts showcased their culture. Meet members of the Scottish community on March 12 and 13, at the shared table with The Celtic Connection at the Celtic Village Street Market on the 900 block of Granville Street.
April 16 - 7:30 PM - “The Sound of Scotland” at the Mount Seymour Church Hall, Parkgate, North Vancouver. Paul Anderson, Scotland’s champion fiddler makes a return visit to Vancouver. June 19 - 11:30 AM - Scottish Heritage Week kicks off with the “Kirkin ‘o’ the Tartans” at St. Andrews Wesley Church on Burrard Street, Vancouver. Heritage Week ends on June 25 with the Annual B.C. July 5 - 8 PM - The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra, direct from Scotland. A stage of 65 performers, including singers, fiddlers, accordions and also a pipe band. The Orchestra also performs at the Bell Theatre in Surrey on July 6 at 8 PM. For tickets to both performances call Ticketmaster at (604) 280-4444.
October 29 - 8 PM - The Alexander Brother, direct from Scotland. Two great favourites at the Scottish Cultural Centre. For more information, call (604) 939-3963.
