September 25 dawned glorious and sunny and a great day for our first annual golf tournament at Mylora Golf course in Richmond. Brendan Flynn had suggested the golf tournament as a fundraiser for The Celtic Connection and since it was our first tournament, we were a bit nervous not knowing what to expect. But actually, the day was a lot of fun for everyone, not just the golfers. As with most Celtic events there was a lot of friendly banter and laughs, especially at the dinner afterwards and the prize giving.
We really want to thank everyone most sincerely who took part in our first golf tournament. We've had some very positive feed back by e-mail and phone calls from golfers who took part in the tournament. They all told us how much the enjoyed the day and really we couldn't be happier to hear that. We are energized and planning next year's second annual tournament.
ENJOYING the beautiful sunshine at the Mylora Golf Course are the Doolin's team of Geo Manu, Christine Van and Doolin's Pub Manager, Evan King. Christine won the prize for women's Nearest to the Pin.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank some people who gave us some very helpful advise and helped us at the tournament. A huge big thanks to all our sponsors for the wonderful plaques and prizes.
Special thanks to George McDonnell for all his help and advice. George kept track of the score cards and served as master of ceremonies. We are deeply grateful to Colleen Carpenter for all her hard work and assistance and also to Christine Flynn. Thanks also to Nuala Cyr and Linda Louie from the Vancouver Irish Sporting and Social Club who volunteered their time to help us at the tournament. Also much appreciated was accordion player Sandy Black, who provided entertainment during dinner hour.
